From the Chief's Desk

Welcome to the Sheboygan Police Department's website.  We are always looking for ways to communicate with the citizens of Sheboygan and provide information that you can use.  I hope that our website can answer those question and provide you with the information you need.

The Sheboygan Police Department embraces the philosophy of "Community Policing".  What that means is that we strive to work together with citizens to help make this a safer place to live, work and play.  We understand that without your help we cannot achieve that goal; therefore, we encourage all citizens to get involved and report any suspicious or criminal activity.

Internally, we are continually training our officers to keep their knowledge, skills and abilities current to better serve you.  All officers are required by the State of Wisconsin to receive a minimum of 24 hours of in-service training every year.  I'm proud to say that our officers obtain much more than the state requirement, which translates into a more effective officer that can meet your needs.

Lastly I like to have an open door policy.  In this case, an open website policy.  We want to hear your opinion on the Sheboygan Police Department whether it's good, bad or otherwise.  Click on the link below to access our "Community Survey".  Please take time to complete the survey and be honest about your opinion.

Sincerely,
David E. Kirk
Chief of Police
